BIOGRAPHY

I have always been happiest when surrounded by music, and as a child played several different instruments. I first began my vocal studies while reading Music and English at Copenhagen University. I arrived in the UK in 2006 and in 2008 I obtained my BMus from Canterbury Christ Church University, graduating with a first class honours degree. In 2012 I completed my MMus from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of music and dance. During the three years I spent there I studied with voice-pedagogue Laureen Livingstone and received coaching from Alistair Young and Martyn Hill.
Since leaving Trinity I have been studying with opera singer and director Jenny Miller and am now involved with Barefoot Opera as a young artist in the 2013 tour. I have performed as soloist in many recitals and concerts, including soprano solo parts in Joseph Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis (Nelson Mass), Tippet’s A Child of Our Time, Stanford’s Magnificat in G and Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: Mass for Peace. In August 2010 I sang the title role in Vivaldi’s rarely performed oratorio Juditha triumphans. In June 2008 I was part of international performance company Companion Star’s new and experimental approach to chamber opera and music theatre in the work-shop / work-in-progress performance of American composer Ellen Lindquist’s For the Living and the Dead, in Västerås, Sweden. I have done recitals at a diverse range of venues, including Handel House Museum, British Library, Royal Naval College Chapel, Finchcocks Musical Museum, Maclaren Hall and Channel 4.
For some years I have enjoyed working as a teacher, teaching children and adults in a diverse range of musical activities, ranging from musical playgroup for small children, children’s and adult’s choirs to one-to-one instrumental and vocal tuition. I live with my partner and three children on the East Sussex coast in Winchelsea Beach.
